FTP or File Transfer Protocol is the most common and simple way of transferring your files from your computer to your website’s server. If you imagine transferring files from your computer to a memory stick, it is a very similar process. Many people use this option to add or make any changes to their website.
A more advanced step is to limit certain individuals to only access particular folders on the backend of your website. This is useful when you have outside personnel who are involved in your website in some capacity. For example, let’s say you are starting a new company and you’ve hired a photographer to take photos for you. You can grant that photographer access to only a certain folder, while leaving the rest of your website secure and safe.
